What is Shotcrete?

Shotcrete is a term for concrete which is pumped through a hose and pneumatically "sprayed" at a high velocity onto various surfaces.

Shotcrete can either be applied by a wet process "shotcrete", or the dry process known as "gunite".

Shotcrete is pumped from ready-mixed trucks to the nozzle. Compressed air is introduced at the nozzle to project the material on various surfaces.

Gunite mixes the dry materials into a hopper and then pumps them pneumatically through a hose to the nozzle. Water is added to the mix at the nozzle.
